Coal fines (choora): what they are and who should buy them
Every truck of lump coal leaves fines behind at the screen. For the right buyer they are the best value in the yard.

What fines are
Fines are the small coal and dust, 0 to 10 mm, screened out when lump coal is sorted at the depot. They come from the same fields as the lump.
Price
Fines are the cheapest coal we sell, at about Rs 25,000 a tonne ex-Quetta, against about Rs 38,000 for Duki lump. Prices are indicative and confirmed when you contact us.
Who uses them
Brick kilns use fines for firing and mix them into the charge to bring down the cost per brick.
Some plants blend fines with lump to stretch their fuel budget.
What to watch
Fines carry more ash than lump, typically 20 to 30%, and hold more moisture. Ask for the analysis and buy on net weight.
They are not suited to most grate-fired boilers, which need lump or screened sizes.
Prices are indicative, per tonne, excluding sales tax, and change week to week. See today's sheet or ask us for a confirmed price.
